Accessibility Resources and Standards

One of the best places to learn about Accessibility is at the W3C web site. As a member of the W3C, Percussion fully supports these initiatives, not only as standards for compliance, but as valuable tools in understanding how to provide highly usable software and Web sites for individuals with disabilities.

In the US, Section 508 requires any electronic and information technology procured by the Federal government to be accessible for individuals with disabilities. Specifically, Section 508 requires not only that software applications and operating systems are accessible, but also that public Web sites are accessible to those with visual impairments whom rely on various assistive products to access electronic information.  Rhythmyx content management system is fully compliant with Section 508 as well as other international regulatory standards for accessibility and supports best practices for the sites created, managed and published by Rhythmyx.

The VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is an informational tool designed to assist Federal contracting officials in demonstrating how products such as Percussion Rhythmyx meet accessibility needs as outlined in Section 508.
