Key Rhythmyx Features for Ensuring Highly Accessible Web Sites
Active Assembly – Enforce Accessibility
Rhythmyx Active Assembly (an interface built into Rhythmyx) capability provides a WYSIWYG user interface that allows users to edit, place, re-arrange and layout content with pages, without requiring changes to the underlying templates. Active Assembly provides a “palette” mechanism from which users select the possible templates they wish to use to control the look and feel for both the pages, and content elements within the pages. To ensure accessibility standards are met, there are rules within Rhythmyx to ensure that only compliant templates are used for any accessible channel or site. This means that whenever your users update or reuse content, the underlying templates ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
Accessibility Checker – Close the Accessibility Gap
For content contributors, Rhythmyx’s Direct Contribute provides a rich text editor (Ephox) that comes complete with an accessibility check for all “in line” content added by contributors outside the bounds of predefined templates. This ensures that any additional formatting or page content added by WCM users must still comply before that content is published. Further automation with this check can be enforced through workflow.
Content Reusability - Keep Accessible Sites and Channels Synchronized
Content Reusability is a built in feature of all content managed through Rhythmyx. When a user adds, removes, edits or rearranges content in the context of one site or channel, all of the corresponding sites and channels are updated with those changes automatically. This means, WCM users can feel confident that changes are made to accessible sites and/or channels managed by the system without requiring any special training or additional steps.
Content Intelligence – Improve the Accessible Experience
Rhythmyx’s Content Intelligent enables WCM users to view and manage the dependencies and connections between your content to improve the usability of the customer experience for any given audience, including users of the accessible sites and channels. Rhythmyx can generate reports on how any single content item is used, where it falls in the navigation, and whether it is dependent on any other elements of content to be effective. This unique capability allows you to decide where to make changes in the use or placement of content to maximize the site experience.
