Getting Started
Once the developer team has been trained, the implementation process can begin. Getting Started is a guided design process including a rapid development cycle, and the consultant-led deployment of a foundation build. The engagement lays the groundwork of a well-conceived CMS implementation and passes along the skills for continuing the roll out. Knowledge transfer and detailed documentation are emphasized throughout.
Your organization will also benefit from:
- Accelerated deployment time scales
- Best practices in the implementation process
- Reduced implementation risk
- Ability to deliver projects on-time/budget
- Valuable experience and know-how from our experts
- A self-sufficient in-house team for core configuration and administration
The Getting Started engagement is a multi week endeavor that includes the following activities:
Modeling and Design
Beginning with an intensive requirements-gathering workshop that involves two experienced Percussion consultants discussing web presence and content strategy with the customer’s main stakeholders to establish a list of goals and requirements for the content management system. The outcome of the workshop is a Development Plan that will be used to guide further development. Developed over the course of the following one to two weeks, the requirements established in the Modeling and Design session will be refined into a specific Development Plan, supported by a detailed task list that will outline the work required to complete a CM System configuration capable of meeting your organization’s goals.
Foundation Build
Once the development plan is complete, the work will be prioritized in conjunction with your organization’s stakeholders to determine which features will be completed as part of the foundation build. During the next one to two weeks, Percussion consultants will work to complete a base configuration that supports customer requirements and gets the project on track for your staff to complete the implementation. This build includes pieces of all the CM System components:
- Content Types
- Templates
- Publishing
- Workflow
- Security
The build will be prioritized according to your organization’s needs, ensuring that all crucial components are in place and your staff is empowered to take the next steps.
