Newly Formed Science and Technology Facilities Council Chooses Rhythmyx to Drive Online Strategy

London, UK - 22 May 2007 - The newly formed Science and Technology Facilities Council has selected Percussion Software’s Rhythmyx Web Content Management (WCM) solution to manage 250 web and intranet sites, improving the way scientists communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council is an independent, non-departmental public body of the Office of Science and Innovation. The Council supplies highly skilled scientist and engineers and generates ideas and technologies that have a broad social and economic impact.

Rhythmyx will support the Council’s strategy by facilitating greater collaboration and communication online, commencing with an intranet project, which will enable a greater number of contributors to generate content in a non-technical manner, within a safe, structured environment. Content will be more easily re-used and refined for different purposes leading to a greater return on content.

Georgina Brown, Web Manager for the Science and Technology Facilities Council commented “Our selection process had a number of criteria which were all of great importance. Rhythmyx meets those requirements, including user friendliness, re-use of content and distribution of content across multi channels. Rhythmyx also supports corporate governance, accessibility, scalability and compatibility with other systems. We are starting with an intranet project, and we plan to use Rhythmyx to manage content on 250 websites and intranets.”

Rhythmyx 6 is the newest version of Percussion's award-winning enterprise-ready WCM System. Rhythmyx 6 extends the company's leadership position in the WCM market by providing a robust platform for managing customer-centric content across multiple sites, multiple channels and multiple lines of business. Tailored for organisations that require seamless support for multiple Web properties combined with easy content reuse, Rhythmyx 6 enables enterprises to build Web sites with frequently updated, persuasive content that is engaging to multiple audiences.

Pete Atkinson, Managing Director of European Operations for Percussion Software said “Rhythmyx is well placed to meet the requirements of the Science and Technology Facilities Council. This is an exciting opportunity for Percussion Software to support the competitive performance of the UK science community.”
