UK property leader, Land Securities, selects Percussion Software's Rhythmyx WCM solution as cornerstone for major online redevelopment

London, UK - January 15, 2007 - FTSE 100 listed, Land Securities, which boasts a £14.4 billion UK property portfolio, is placing Percussion's Rhythmyx web content management system at the heart of exciting plans to regenerate and extend the reach of its online assets. More than fifty internal and external websites will ultimately be served by Rhythmyx, including the company's Intranet, micro-sites for the company's shopping centres (including The Bridges in Sunderland and the White Rose Centre in Leeds), and a brand new community portal serving the occupiers of Land Securities' London Portfolio of over 200 buildings.

Rhythmyx 6 is the latest version of Percussion's award-winning, enterprise-ready WCM system that provides a robust platform to easily manage customer-centric content across multiple sites and channels and different lines of business. "Rhythmyx puts total control of content from creation to archive at our fingertips", comments Land Securities Programme Manager, Wendy Antaw.

"Not only are we saving on the cost and time taken to create new sites but we're also empowering individual business units to create, manage and reuse content far more efficiently. Because we can monitor everything in one place, the lines of business get the autonomy they need without any compromise in the standard and consistency of web delivery across the business. Now we're truly in a position to maximise return on content at every stage in a website's lifecycle; From communicating with key stakeholders and investors during the earliest stages of a development, to leasing commercial units, to maximising footfall in a shopping centre to creating a community of tenants around a major development", says Antaw.

Land Securities' implementation began in November 2006 with the launch of six new shopping centre websites and the launch of its community portal to the London Victoria Community which includes Cardinal Place; the prestigious, 100,000 ft2 office, retail and restaurant development. The corporate intranet will follow in 2007 along with the development of further marketing websites and migration of existing websites.

Percussion Software was appointed to work with Land Securities following a competitive tender. Key reasons for the selection of the Rhythmyx WCM system include:

  • Ability to clone sites and sections and leverage design templates to accelerate new site creation, and enforce corporate standards whilst allowing for localised branding and design.
  • Empowering the lines of business, with greater control of content, increasing content freshness, enabling seamless content reuse and delegation of content creation within individual business units (inbuilt templates and approval mechanisms ensuring corporate standard and consistency are maintained).
  • Simple and intuitive content creation and editing interfaces that reduce the need for technical support, enabling content management to be brought in-house in several business units where this is currently outsourced.
  • Simple scheduling of new content for publication. Ability to plan ahead for communications updates and releases that can be instantly and simultaneously posted to multiple channels at a pre-scheduled date and time.

Pete Atkinson, Managing Director, European Operations commented, "Land Securities is a prime example of an organisation with the web at the very core of its business and where the value of online content goes far beyond marketing. Rhythmyx allows organisations to maximise return on their online assets by delivering seamless support for multiple web properties combined with easy content reuse. It's the ideal solution for the UK's dynamic property industry, providing a robust foundation to build websites with frequently updated, persuasive content of a consistently high quality that is engaging to multiple audiences with very different information needs - from investors to tenants and co-workers to shoppers."
