The "Gartner MarketScope for Web Content Management, 2007"1focuses on WCM software vendors that target large and midsize businesses with licensed server-based content management software. The 16 vendors covered in the report "provide comparable WCM offerings with a broad feature set, supporting a wide variety of corporate functions", according to the Gartner report.
"We're very pleased that Percussion was rated positive among WCM vendors by Gartner's MarketScope for Web Content Management," said Percussion CEO Barry Reynolds. "Our growing list of customers have found that Rhythmyx enables organizations to achieve a higher return-on-content by delivering dynamic, frequently changing content that is compelling to customers. Rhythmyx easily manages content across multiple sites, channels and lines of business to ensure the consistency of brand and customer experience."
Percussion's Positive rating in the Gartner MarketScope for Web Content Management is the latest addition to an impressive list of honors for Percussion and Rhythmyx during the past year. Recent awards have included:
- Percussion was named one of the 2007 "100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management" by KMWorld magazine. This was the fifth consecutive year that KMWorld named Percussion a leader in the field.
- Percussion was named one of the 2006 "100 Companies That Matter Most" in the digital content industry by EContent magazine. This was the fourth consecutive year that EContent named Percussion a leader in the Content Management category.
- Percussion's Rhythmyx earned two shortlist nominations at the Information Management Awards 2006, hosted by the British Computer Society (BCS). Two of the company's UK customers -- magic circle law firm Allen & Overy and the University of London – were nominated at the prestigious awards in the category of content management.
- Percussion and University of London also were short-listed in the CNET Networks UK Technology Awards, in the category of "Public Sector Technology Project of the Year." This followed the university's successful implementation of Rhythmyx to manage the online content for its Centre for Distance Education that supports distance educators in its External Program, including 34,000 students in over 180 countries.
In Gartner's MarketScope, a Positive rating means that "the vendor is strong in multiple areas, and large enough to sustain a strategy for growth across a substantial market domain." Vendors with positive ratings "have the research and development resources to make technical innovations that keep up with market demand," added Gartner.
