Speaking of hyper-channel
Posted by Vern Imrich on Tuesday, September 05, 2006It's always a good idea to practice what you preach. Last time, we talked about what I call "hyper-channel" in which you go "narrow but deep" pursuing all the variations of a given channel, rather than trying to force something across broader channels that might not be appropriate.
Well, with the introduction of Gilbane's CTO Blog, I had a perfect opportunity to take myself up on my own advice. With any blog, it's certainly possible to convert and expand the ideas from short blog entries into longer articles, and presentations. But there's a also a lot of value in the stream-of-conscious nature of a blog. Others get to comment and interact as you go, rather than just accept a polished point of view. So without further hyper-channel ado, I'll be participating in both this blog, and Gilbane's CTO Blog. The topics there serve a bit more of a technical audience, but also give you the chance to see reaction and other entries from across the industry. It's a great compliment to contentions, and a way of really leveraging blogs for what they are.
