Senior Strategic Product Manager - Content Mangement
Location: Boston, MAPercussion Software is seeking a Product Manager for our Rhythmyx web content management product. This position will be based in our worldwide headquarters in Woburn, MA. The Product Manager (PM) is a key role at Percussion, and will drive the strategic direction and overall success in the marketplace of Percussion’s Rhythmyx product. The PM is the product and industry evangelist, working closely with the engineering, marketing, pre-sales and sales teams as the technical product expert. He/she is the product “champion”, ensuring that all organizations, from development to sales, are executing in line with product vision and direction. Development of strategic product plans which will steer the company’s product development and positioning of software over a 2-4 year time horizon is key. Analysis of global customer requirements and the monitoring of competitive activity will be essential in development of product functional development definition, development prioritization and oversight.
Key Responsibilities (not all inclusive of duties of the position)
- Research, monitor, and analyze industry trends, content management trends, customer needs, and competitive information to guide the planning, development and performance of Percussion Software’s offerings
- Develop and maintain up-to-date product roadmap, developing new offerings as necessary in response to emerging trends and competitive strategies
- Develop Product Requirements Documents that include target markets, product requirements and business case assumptions, covering typical user scenarios, key features, usability, platform and performance requirements
- Interface with Engineering, Marketing, Customer Support, Consulting, Pre-Sales, and Sales during all phases of the product life cycle
- Manage formal and informal customer feedback (beta tests, customer advisory councils, qualitative analysis, etc.) as part of the product development process
- Develop action plans that produce product improvements and positioning, and will interact with and build relationships with all areas of the organization including senior management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of business experience, with 10 or more years of software experience
- At least five years in a hands-on Software Product Development environment, with 2 years or more of software product management experience
- Ability to execute both strategic and tactical efforts related to the development and management of products
- Thorough knowledge of the web content management software market with emphasis on product development and deployment
- Visionary individual with solid leadership skills to manage projects across multiple functional areas
- Strategic thinker
- Solid understanding of overall business management concepts
- Strong creative thinking and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Related Field
