Consultant - Europe
Location: London, UKThe responsibilities of a consultant are to act as a technical resource and/or project manager on customer engagements. The responsibilities of this person will include being a team member on large-scale development projects (reporting to the Senior Consultant or Project Manager). The Consultant will also function as lead or sole developer on smaller scale projects.
Key Results Areas
Application Design
Develop and deploy Rhythmyx applications for customers that conform to the application design specifications that have been defined in the Modeling and Design workshop as lead by Percussion. Consultants work under the supervision of a Senior Consultant and Project Manager.
Business Development
Explore and expand upon relationships with existing customers. Educate customers on Percussion products and offerings; assist Sales and Marketing departments in customer calls and visits.
Project Management
Track and manage customer requests for development and enhancements. Interact positively with customers holding pre-engagement, status, code review, deployment, and post deployment meetings. Effectively manage time, customer, and Percussion expectations. Improve procedures to assist with better managing projects and customers.
Communication
Positively communicate with management and all departments within Percussion and clients on projects and assignments. Continually work toward resolving issues, finding optimal solutions, and arriving to resolutions quickly and smoothly. Make sure management is aware of changes, issue escalation, next steps, and general project status. Create documentation and receive sign off (from both customer and managers) on any changes or scope change requests.
Leadership Quality
The consultant must be self motivated and be able to take a leadership role within the Professional Services Organization, Percussion, and with customers.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- BA/BS in CS, Engineering, Math, or Business (Or equivalent work experience).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well alone or in a team environment.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to communicate project progress to others.
- Strong follow-through on tasks, requests, and projects
- Competency in several of the following areas:
- Web development: HMTL, XHTML, XSL/XSLT, JavaScript, Velocity, Web Services
- Structured programming language skills; JAVA, C, C++
- Database development, design, and administration, including XML, SQL
- Web server administration (i.e. Apache, IIS, iPlanet)
- Content Management: Rhythmyx, Stellent, Documentum, Interwoven, Vignette, Tridion
