The responsibilities of a senior consultant are to act as a lead technical resource and/or project manager on customer engagements. This role is a high-level, professional technical application design and product deployment position responsible for the delivery of best practice for the design, configuration and customization aspects of a Rhythmyx content management project. The Senior Consultant leads the development team through the mentoring of Junior and mid-level Consultants during all aspects of the client engagement. This person is responsible for the day-to-day health of assigned projects as well as performing complex design, implementation and training.

Key Results Areas

Application Design

Drive the delivery of best practice design and build services to develop high quality application deployments for customers that conform to the application design specifications that have been defined in the Modeling and Design workshop session as lead by Percussion.

Business Development

Explore and expand upon relationships with existing customers. Educate customers on Percussion products and offerings; assist Sales and Marketing departments in customer calls and visits.

Project Management

Track and manage customer requests for development and enhancements. Interact positively with customers holding pre-engagement, status, code review, deployment, and post deployment meetings. Effectively manage time, customer and Percussion expectation, and resources on all projects. Improve procedures to assist with better managing projects and customers.

Communication

The Senior Consultant must communicate effectively with management and all departments within Percussion along with clients on projects and assignments. Continually works toward the resolution of issues, finding optimal solutions quickly. This individual is aware of changes, issue escalation, next steps, and general project status. Create documentation and receive sign off (from both customer and manager) on any changes or scope change requests.

Leadership Quality

The Senior Consultant must maintain a strong leadership role within the Professional Services Organization, Percussion, and with customers.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education: BA/BS in CS, Engineering, Math, or Business (or equivalent work experience)
• Superior project management skills in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong follow-through on tasks, requests, and projects
• 5+ Years of relevant formal consulting experience
• High level of competency in several of the following areas:
  • Web development: HMTL, XHTML, XSL/XSLT, JavaScript, Velocity, Web Services
  • Structured programming language skills; JAVA, C, C++
  • Database development, design, and administration, including XML, SQL 
  • Web server administration (i.e. Apache, IIS, iPlanet)
  • Content Management: Rhythmyx, Stellent, Documentum, Interwoven, Vignette, Tridion

Candidates MUST live in the Boston or San Francisco area.
